MILESTONE

Uploaded on: May 18, 2025

It wasn’t all that long ago that I was sleeping in a park.

Laying on the concrete after dark.

Tinge of fear through the heart.

Could it be a serial killer behind that cigarette spark?

Wasn’t all that long ago that I was sleeping in shelters.

Helter Skelter in the brain, wondering if I can stay sane.

Knowing there’s no one who knows me, that doesn’t want me slain.

It wasn’t all that long ago, I was surrounded by haters.

Bash me for being gay, but hit on me in private. Cowards and fakers.

And sleeping in a hostel, worried about tomorrow,

literally had me screaming to my fans to beg and borrow.

But, now it’s all changed.

Nothing is the same.

I’m eating fire sushi at the nearest PF Chang’s.

I’m flyer than a pilot. I don’t even need a chain.

I walk into a room and someone wants to give me brains.

Every time.

Yeah I’m fine, like the talk of the town.

But, how the hell a homeless trans turn this shit around?

It started in the mind.

Gratitude, and not a bad attitude, then altitude isn’t hard to find.

You’ve got the aptitude, to leave the misery behind,

when you focus less on haters, focus more on your grind.

I’m a witness.

This is the beginning of an endless journey.

From park benches to the suburbs and it’s still early.

You can have anything you can imagine.

Who said you were a human?

My spirit is a dragon.

And this is where you’re lacking.

You let them tell you everything you’re not.

Then throw you in a cubicle to rot.

You think your life will change if you pray to a god.

But, nothing’s going to change until you get it in your heart:

You’re the god that you’re waiting for.
